Residents and Staff attended ‘Brooklands Christmas Ball’. The ladies and gentlemen looked glamorous and felt fabulous; we saw dashing suits, swinging dresses and many sequins. Lenny the Barber provided great hair styles. Residents took to the foyer to experience a Hollywood themed evening, one that entailed a red carpet, dinner, a bar, lights, a photo booth and Gaz, the very talented DJ. Mrs Clause was there and so was the grinch! Thank you to our amazing staff for going above and beyond to ensure that It was a very special night for all.
Residents of Brooklands Kilkeel were in awe with the response of The Pen Pal Project. (September, 2020)
Thank you for everyone who took part in ‘The Pen Pal Project’, we have been overwhelmed with the response; it has been truly incredible. Our lovely Residents have received letters from many different schools and groups, letters from England, Ireland, USA, Dubai, France, Canada, Switzerland and more. Residents will select a few pen-pals each and correspond with a handwritten letter, but unfortunately due to such high numbers not everyone will receive a return letter. Although, Residents have received and read every single letter and it has brought tremendous joy and happiness to the Care Home. Thanks again to everyone who got involved, inspired and touched the hearts of our Residents in Brooklands, Kilkeel.
It has been said that reminiscing about a trip can bring deep happiness in the present moment. Residents of Ailsa Lodge have been doing just that; using interactive methods to discuss places they have travelled to. This activity sparked great conversations, on special destinations, kindled friendships, memorable experiences, funny stories and great restaurants. Have a look at where our Residents have travelled to

Residents of Kilwee Care Home, were simply delighted to welcome back their regular Hairdresser, Lisa. Check out the glamorous photos and just look at those smiles!
Last week in Brooklands Care Home, Antrim we hosted an in-house summer party; the afternoon entertainment consisted of Kelly’s fantastic singing and a wonderful performance from three Irish Dancers. Spirits were high, Residents had a great time singing, dancing and enjoying delicious party foods! Have a look at a picture of the lovely postcards we’ve received this month from our local pen-pal friends, Sharyn and Holly.
In honour of what should have been 2020 Olympics, all this week, Staff and Residents have been hosting their very own, mini Olympic Games – Residents have particularly enjoyed the game of ‘Balloon Volleyball’. We’ve been busy with many other daily activities including shoe polishing, jigsaws, tea parties, aerobics and crafts. ???
